Backroads

Backroads is a coffee table art book project based on preserving the sights of places in the Old South found off the main highways — places with a sense of being left behind in the rush to progress. We now live in a world where every rest stop off the Interstate looks and feels the same. Every fast food chain offers the same food in the same looking stores. Steven Stiefel sets out with his camera to capture the ghosts of the southern byways.
